Woodkid, the Grammy-nominated French director/artist/producer/musician behind acclaimed videos for Lana Del Rey\u2019s global hit Born To Die, Drake & Rihanna\u2019s Take Care and Katy Perry\u2018s Teenage Dream, steps out from behind the camera with the release on Island Records of his debut album \u201dThe Golden Age\u201d. The eagerly awaited album follows Woodkid\u2019s 2011 EP Iron, the video for which attracted more than 25 million views. In fact Kendrick Lamar one of the hottest and most lauded rappers to emerge in recent years, samples Woodkid\u2019s \u201cIron\u201d on his track The Spiteful Chant. Sonic images from the song were also used by the makers of Assassin\u2019s Creed:Revelation for their blockbuster launch. The collaboration continued for the launch of Assassin\u2019s Creed 3 when they used Woodkid\u2019s second single \u201cRun Boy Run\u201d in their global advertising campaign. \r

\u201cThe Golden Age\u201d was written and produced by Woodkid and featured songs on the 14-track set include \u201cRun Boy Run\u201d, \u201cI Love You\u201d, \u201cThe Shore\u201d, \u201cFalling\u201d, \u201cIron\u201d, \u201cThe Other Side\u201d and the title track.\r

Yoann Lemoine aka Woodkid, is widely regarded as one of the most creative and exciting artists working in the contemporary music, as witnessed by his hugely acclaimed videos for Global superstars Lana Del Ray and Drake & Rihanna amongst others. Indeed he earned a Grammy nomination for his own song \u201cRun Boy Run\u201d at this year\u2019s Grammy Awards. Woodkid is the musical artist, the songwriter/singer/lyricist/producer, who has made this beautiful record. The visual aspect remains a hugely important with Woodkid directing all his own videos and turning his live performances into a spectacle rarely seen in the world of pop music. Together with a 30-piece orchestra, he turned the venerable Le Grand Rex theatre in Paris into a place of ecstasy in front of 3,000 adoring fans last September. \u201cWhen I started playing my own music, I wanted it to be as tall as a skyscraper. Images can achieve that. A really big orchestra can also achieve that.\u201d \r
