While her mother, whose relationship with Johnny, we assume was brief is out of town. Johnny and Cleo embark on a brief press tour to Italy and learn some largely unspoken lessons about happiness, parenthood, and the senseless of life in Hollywood. Johnny does little in his own life apart from obey press conferences and feel the slightly sinister side celebrity, the only constant in his life, beyond room service is his daughter. We watch as their father-daughter relationship begin to warm from one careful, watchful, slow shot to the next, a sad and affecting story emerges of his daughters devotion. Watching SOMEWHERE, shot in the lovely tones of the Southern Californian haze by the great cinematographer Harris Savides.
