Mike Oldfield released album Five Miles Out in 1982. It featured the hit single Family Man (later covered by Hall and Oates) which featured a guest vocal appearance from Maggie Reilly. The album also featured the lengthy opus Taurus II one of Oldfields most accomplished major works and the albums title track inspired by a hazardous flight Oldfield and his band took from Barcelona to San Sebastian on a European tour. Five Miles Out contains a newly remastered 2013 version of the album as well as the Bside Waldberg (The Peak) and a previously unreleased demo of Five Miles Out. The vinyl edition newly remastered for 2013 Five Miles Out is pressed in 180gm vinyl and the inner bag contains an new essay with an interview with Mike. The deluxe edition of Five Miles Out contains a newly remastered 2013 version of the album and also features a previously unreleased CD of highlights of this concert along with a DVD featuring a stunning new 5.1 Surround mix of the album by Oldfield himself a promotional video for the title track and two rare performances on the BBC TV programme Six Fifty Five Special from 1982.
