NEWLY REMASTERED MID-PRICE CD EDITION OF THE 2011 LIVE ALBUM
rrStarted as a one-man studio project in 2005 by multi-instrumentalist Giancarlo Erra before evolving then into a full band, Nosound inventively combines influences from '70s psychedelia, '80s/'90s ambient, soundtracks, contemporary alternative and post-rock. The music is evocative and intense with personal songwriting and uses a variety of vintage and modern electronic instruments. Influences range from Pink Floyd to Brian Eno, from Radiohead to Sigur Ros, passing through rock and electronic music.
rrFollowing the release of the band's new minimal sound on their latest release, 'Allow Yourself', Giancarlo Erra is remastering and reissuing past albums on Kscope, now including 'The Northern Religion of Things'. The album was recorded during the rehearsal process for a special one-off 'Nosound solo' gig that Erra performed in London in August 2010.
rrFor this intimate gig, Giancarlo created new track arrangements along with a new live setup that allowed him to play keyboards and/or acoustic guitar while singing as well as using and recreating all the original sounds and effects from the original studio albums. No backing tracks were used, only loops/tapes and real live played instruments. The tracks were recorded straight from stereo outputs with no overdubs or edits involved resulting in unique and personal interpretations of the best tracks from the band's catalogue.
rrThis mid-price CD edition of 'The Northern Religion of Things' is presented in digipak packaging complete with an 8-page booklet featuring photography and sleeve notes by Giancarlo Erra.
