Taylor Momsen, one of the stars of the hit US show Gossip Girl, is making her music debut this year, fronting new grunge rock band The Pretty Reckless. \r
\r
After scoring a Top 20 hit with the band's killer first single Make Me Wanna Die, 17 year old Taylor is back, expressing her darker side with their equally unflinching new single, Miss Nothing, released August 22nd (download) / 23rd (7\u201d Picture Disc), with a bside of an exclusive acoustic version of Make Me Wanna Die. \r

The Pretty Reckless' debut album Light Me Up follows on August 30th and is an honest chronicle of Momsen's experiences, filtered through her unique point of view: 'The record is about life,' says Taylor, 'It covers everything: love, death, and music itself. It's rock and roll. It's sex. It's drugs. It's religion. It's politics. Each song tells a story about the trials and tribulations and emotional struggles that I've experienced or observed. It's not a happy pop record, but it's not Satan-worshiping either. The lyrics aren't meant to be taken literally, they are open to interpretation.' \r

Drawing influence from the likes of Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Debbie Harry - The Pretty Reckless are already wowing crowds with their energetic live performances and seductive, dynamic sound - Kerrang! gave their UK debut jam packed gig KKKK, declaring that Taylor 'is physically and vocally everything that a frontwoman could wish to be...with heavy riffs and wailing guitar solos, the crowd are at the Gossip-Girl-gone-grunge's mercy'. \r

Currently performing on the annual acclaimed Vans Warped Tour Stateside, the band have their sights set back on the UK this summer, when they return for a bumper-packed promo trip, as well as doing what they do best and bringing their live show to London with a SOLD OUT headline gig at Islington Academy on Thurs 19th August followed by the V Festival, where they'll be opening the 4Music stage. \r
