Changin\u2019 is the first official release in the form of a 4 track EP from dreampop artist Good Posture released on highly limited (300 worldwide) rose pink vinyl.\r

Originally from the UK, Joel has been playing music most of his adult life, from various cover bands as a teenager to some more serious projects in his early 20\u2019s. However it was not until his move to the German city of Leipzig back in 2016 when a friend gave him a copy of his cracked version of Ableton that he really started to record and write his own songs.\r
\r
After a further move to Paris with a head full of ideas, and a love for the self producing lo-fi artists coming before him that he adored so much, such as Connan Mockasin, Mac Demarco, Men I Trust, and Jakob Ogawa\u2026 One of the first tracks to come from this spout of creativity was his first successful self release 'Italy', which quickly rose to become a viral internet hit gaining millions of plays across streaming platforms. With some reassurance in his work two more singles later followed.\r

Returning to his home away from home Leipzig, Germany after a spell of touring, Joel began to hone in on all the producing skills he had learnt over the years to sit down and write a real cohesive release project. With only three self released singles under his belt, the Changin\u2019 EP, as the title implies, is about change and finally becoming 'okay that my whole adult life and everything around me has been changing so rapidly.'\r

'The title track was written originally as the acoustic song to slow back down the tempo from the new faster upbeat sound of the other tracks.' Says Joel. 'However the song quickly manifested into more of a slow paced ballad with the addition of a rhythm section and brass ending.'\r

'I also tried to forget the pop format here and write a song like Italy without a chorus and recognisable structure. During the writing of the song, I felt I was going through the biggest change of my life to date, the world in lockdown and having a milestone birthday, everything was going to be different and I knew it. I have always had change in my life, mainly from never settling in a city and moving to a new city and even country every two years. I wanted to reflect on this type of change with this song and how I feel content with it whereas in the past I never knew if it was the right thing to be doing.'\r

In 2018 Good Posture brought his sounds to the stage. Playing a solo set he shared the bill with Sunset Rollercoaster, Infinite Bisous, Pizza Girl and Spang Sisters. He then went on to do a lap of Europe on a headline tour in 2019 recruiting more members to the live act, where he also played the Rendez-Vous Festival in Nantes and the BEWYLD Festival in Malta.\r

During the same time Good Posture became a fully live 5 piece band, who jumped on the Shelter Boy headline tour just before the world went into lockdown. \r

'After touring around and trying out lots of different songs, I came to the realisation that playing live is one of the greatest feelings ever and I wanted to write the songs for this EP to be played live.' Says Joel. 'I wanted to up the tempo from my last releases so that the live show could become more lively. I wrote the songs thinking very much that I wanted them to be very poppy and catchy.\r

'The songs were written and recorded in my shared apartment in Leipzig, Germany simply in my bedroom. I produced the songs myself, having spent the last years since my last release focusing a lot on learning production and finding and saving sounds that I really liked.'
