Although recording sessions had begun ten years earlier it was only months before his death in 2008 that Oliver and the band returned to the job at hand working with older tapes as well as recording new tunes u2013 some, even from Oliver's hospital bed. Oliver says, 'the album just finished itself. It was a breeze. The last overdubs were a joy and the mixing was a pleasure.' rrOliver Schroer (June 18, 1956 u2013 July 3, 2008) was a Canadian fiddler, composer, and music producer. In 2007, Oliver was diagnosed with leukemia, which proved to be untreatable. The release of 'Freedom Row' has been much-anticipated by his many fans.
