An Edited Recording Made For Transmission And Broadcast On 17 May 1959 On The Footplate Of An Unidentified Ex LMS Class 5 4-6-0 Working North From Aviemore To Inverness Over Slochd Summit. The Commentary Includes Regulator And Valve Positions During The Run.
Also Made On The Footplate Of An Unidentified Ax LMS Class 5 4-6-0 Being Piolted Vt An Ex LNER CLass B1 4-6-0 Working A West Highland Express For Fort William Out Of Glasgow Queen Street Station. The Tunnel Out Of Queen Street Station Was Notorious For Wet Rails And Many Heavy Trains Has To Be Double Headed Or Banked Out Of The Station.
