Description
In this groundbreaking book, Mirsad Kriještorac delves into the rare historic instance of a new nation emerging, that of Bosnian Muslims. Through an empirically rigorous and methodologically rich approach, Kriještorac explores the complex experience of nationalism for Bosnian Muslims, which arose in response to the aggressive Serbian and Croatian essentialist nationalism. The book's focus on the project of Bosniak identity sheds light on the nuances of national identity formation. With a convincing argument, Kriještorac makes a significant contribution to scholarly debates on the topic. This thought-provoking work offers a nuanced understanding of the complexities of nationalism and identity. By examining the Bosnian Muslim experience, Kriještorac provides a valuable insight into the intricacies of nation-building and identity formation.
