Description
In this groundbreaking collection of 14 programs of social justice oriented research, a diverse group of practitioner researchers, educators, and scholars connect the personal with the political, and the theoretical with the practical. Through their inquiry into social justice in education, they shed light on life in schools, families, and communities, revealing the complexities and nuances of this critical area of study. By centering social justice in the curriculum, these researchers demonstrate how even small changes can lead to significant educational outcomes. This work is a testament to the power of participatory action research as a pedagogy, encouraging readers to stay messy and engage in the messy, iterative process of social justice inquiry. With its focus on the personal, passionate, and participatory, this collection offers a unique and thought-provoking exploration of social justice in education.
