Formed in 2016, The Lunar Effect burst onto the scene with their distinctive blend of heavy grunge and retro rock. The London-based quartet quickly garnered attention for their dynamic sound and heavy psychedelic rock reverence. In 2019, the band crash-landed onto the Stoner scene with their debut album, Calm Before the Calm. The eight-track album was critically acclaimed, receiving glowing views from across the globe. In the years that followed since its release, the album has gained several million streams on multiple platforms worldwide. Now, on its six-year anniversary, it is only fitting that a special edition be released. Featuring alternative album artwork and a special bonus track (a live cover of Free's Be My Friend), this is the second chance to own the band's debut masterpiece that you've all been asking for. When asked about the re-release, The Lunar Effect said: "We are incredibly proud of our first record. To see it take-off and grow so organically without any management or PR was mind-blowing. We are constantly asked when it is going to be re-released, so to have the chance to do so with Svart to an even bigger audience this time around is very exciting for us." Calm Before the Calm is available on Svart exclusive purple/white marble vinyl, limited transparent magenta vinyl, black vinyl, and CD.
