''Lotus Flower' is an inspirational production by renowned pianist and composer Bruno Angelini, performed in the unusual format of a piano and saxophone trio. An evocation in music and homage to the extraordinary women and men, who stand as beacons and fight for our world's social, political, environmental, artistic and scientific causes. Relating to Wayne Shorter's citation about the Lotus Flower, which even though it is living in a swamp, will clear the water around her when she is in bloom. Therefore Bruno Angelinis idea was to create a musical contribution to his personal heroes that stood up for human rights, dignity, nature or freedom like Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Madres de Plaza de Mayo, well-known or not but people, who helped to make the world a better place, cleared the swamp around their blooming existence and often had to pay with their lives.

Bruno Angelini is an atypical pianist, endowed with a very personal universe as a composer and musician. Rooted in the culture of jazz and contemporary music, an inventive pianist, constantly seeking to push the sonic boundaries of his instrument. He has been a pivotal musician on the European jazz scene since the late 1990s. Among the many musicians he's performed with, are Kenny Wheeler, Riccardo Del Fra, Reggie Workman, Andrew Cyrille, Ramon Lopez, Norma Winstone, Marc Ducret, Louis Sclavis, Paolo Fresu, to name just a few.

Angelini's album 'Open Land', produced and released by La Buissonne, was a Jazz Coup De Coeur prize winner (2018) from the prestigious Charles Cros Academy.
