With each composer bringing a unique perspective and distinct voice to the album, Milestones focuses on life's pivotal moments such as Wallen's second movement of the concerto inspired by a Yiddish Lullaby sung to young Philippe by his grandfather and Auerbach's multilayered violin concerto reflecting the distortion of memory by future experience. The Royal Scottish National Orchestra, with a distinguished history spanning over 125 years, ranks among Europe's finest ensembles.
