When baritone Milan Siljanov decided to record his first song album, the composers to be immortalised on it were immediately clear to him.

From his early youth he was fascinated by piano works, even having the desire to become a pianist, but his talents lay in other musical areas. During this time he first came into contact with Schubert's piano works, in particular the Impromptu No. 4 in A flat major - a piano piece that still fascinates him to this day. The singer also finds melancholy and pathos of the music in many of Schubert's songs and it quickly became clear that Schubert would be a focal point of this new album, complemented by two weighty cycles by Johannes Brahms (Vier ernste Gesange (Four Serious Songs) Op. 121) and Frank Martin (Six Monologues from 'Jedermann' ).

Graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he studied under the tutelage of Rudolf Piernay, Milan Siljanov is hailed for his "fiery and persuasive vocal presence" (Bachtrack) and "a heartbreakingly intense singing that took one's breath away" (Suddeutsche Zeitung).

He has established himself as a versatile and in-demand singer on many of Europe's greatest stages.
