'Magnum Opus' recorded over two sessions in London, is led by the charismatic and visionary trumpet player and composer Mark Kavuma alongside large ensemble The Banger Factory, featuring more than 20 of the most gifted artists on the London jazz scene. Born in 2015, in the vibrant heart of Brixton, South London, The Banger Factory has transformed from a quintet into a thriving ensemble dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of jazz while inspiring the next generation. Kavuma's mission is clear: to pass this legacy on while showcasing the immense talent of London's jazz community championing diversity across genres, genders, and borders, and ultimately shaping the future of jazz music.

Featuring compositions/arrangements and performances by veterans of the British jazz scene such as tenor saxophonist Mussinghi Brian Edwards and vocalist Marcina Arnold, alongside the new generation of artists: vocalist Sahra Gure, saxophonists Theo Erskine and Ruben Fox, guitarist Artie Zaitz, pianist Noah Stoneman and of course Mark Kavuma himself.

Also featuring the incredible talents and work of Reuben James, Deschanel Gordon, David Mrakpor, Misha Fox, Jack Thomas, William Cleasby, Wilf Diamond, Jake Zaitz, Christ-Stephan Boizi, Marcus Praestgaard and Jack Garside.

'Magnum Opus' is not just a collection of tracks; it's a celebration of music, leadership, and community that invites the listener to be part of an extraordinary journey.

It is available as a limited-edition double vinyl LP, housed in a gatefold sleeve, mastered by Frank Merritt @ The Carvery.
