American Vibraphonist Dave Pike may not be as well-known as contemporaries Gary Burton and Bobby Hutcherson, but recordings with Bill Evans, Herbie Mann, and Paul Bley evince Pike's pedigree. His MPS albums from 1969 through the early 70s have become classics in the jazz world. Underpinned by funk and fusion, Infra-Red ventures into country rock. A remarkable album that manifests Pike's status in the European and international jazz scene. With it's iconic cover this record from 1970 has long been a collector's album that will now be available again for everyone to enjoy. On this album Dave Pike has a prominent band on his side. The amazing German guitarist Volker Kriegelis Pike's perfect counterpart, while Viennese bassist J.A. Rettenbacher and drummer Peter Baumeister complete the musical spectrum.
