It was this idea that struck Tarja as she began work on the songs for her 2019 studio album "In The Raw". The title is to be understood as a clear declaration of intent: Tarja strongly wanted the album to sound direct, real and immediate as old heavy rock albums used to sound. "In The Raw" received great reviews by fans and critics alike. "Heavier than ever before, interwoven with epic choirs and classical elements, the record stands out as the Finn's most versatile and therefore best release.", German rock magazine "Rock It!" wrote in November 2023, describing the sound of the album perfectly.
