In this thought-provoking analysis, renowned author Tracey Jensen delves into the complex world of parenting culture and its relationship with broader societal issues. By examining the narratives surrounding parenting, Jensen critiques the cultural politics of blaming parents for social problems, revealing a stark picture of how families are policed and disciplined. Through a nuanced exploration of crisis talk around parenting, Jensen exposes the ways in which families are judged and stigmatized, often based on arbitrary moral standards. With a focus on the intersections of parenting culture, policy, and neoliberalism, this book offers a compelling critique of the power dynamics at play in contemporary society. With a clear and engaging writing style, Jensen's work is a must-read for anyone interested in social policy, family studies, or critical sociology. This book is a valuable contribution to the ongoing conversation about the role of parents in shaping our society, and the ways in which we can work towards a more inclusive and supportive environment for all families.
