Meet the majestic leopard seal, the second largest species of seal in Antarctica. With its sleek, streamlined body and powerful build, this apex predator is a thrilling sight to behold. Solitary by nature, leopard seals inhabit the pack-ice surrounding the Antarctic continent, where they hunt for penguins and fish with ease. Reaching up to 26 years in age, females give birth to a single pup on the sea-ice after a nine-month gestation, before returning to the ocean to feed. Known for their robust incisors and massive, lizard-like heads, leopard seals are a true marvel of nature, exuding both elegance and ferocity in their Antarctic habitat.
