Description
In this groundbreaking study, renowned professor Janet Jacobs delves into the complex and often painful legacy of trauma inheritance among descendants of Holocaust survivors. Through a nuanced exploration of social mechanisms and the role of gender, Jacobs sheds light on the profound impact of intergenerational trauma on families and communities. With a focus on the post-Holocaust family culture, this book brings together a rich tapestry of research, theory, and personal narratives to create a powerful and thought-provoking work. Winner of the 2017 Outstanding Book Award for the Peace, War, and Social Conflict Section, this book is a must-read for scholars, researchers, and anyone interested in the ongoing impact of trauma on individuals and society. By examining the ways in which trauma is transmitted across generations, Jacobs offers a poignant and insightful exploration of the human experience.
