Description
Explore the complex relationships between local cultures, gender roles, and economic inequality in the United States. "Gendered Places" delves into the regional differences that shape the attitudes and behaviors of residents, ultimately influencing patterns of inequality such as the gender wage gap. This study examines four key norms related to women's economic support and gender equity, using metropolitan commuting zones to analyze the unique characteristics of each region. By examining local gender norms, "Gendered Places" reveals how regional cultures contribute to the complexities of gender and inequality.
