One of John Coltrane's most popular albums and considered his 'true' first solo album with musicians he chose himself. Blue Train still remained faithful to the hard bop style: on very Bop compositions, John Coltrane already imprints his sound and his offbeat and innovative playing. It's over several octaves and lines up beautiful rhythmic progressions: blues, swing and funk are omnipresent. Recorded in 1957 'Blue Train' is therefore a musical work to discover or rediscover. John Coltrane is recognized as one of the best jazzmen.

This release is part of the New Ermitage collection available from January 2024: 18 jazz and soul titles reissued on yellow vinyl with new codes and renewed graphics.
