The original Alfred Newman soundtrack to the celebrated Billy Wilder film The Seven Year Itch(1955), a romantic comedy based on the eponymous three-act play by George Axelrod.

The film was co-written and directed by Billy Wilder, and stars Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell, reprising his Broadway role from the play. It contains one of the most iconic images of the 20th century - Monroe standing on a subway grate as her white dress is blown by a passing train.

Alfred Newman (1901-1970) was a famous American composer, arranger, and conductor of film music, whose career spans more than four decades.

Soundtrack factory have rounded out this CD with additional soundtrack music by Newman, written for the films Love is a Many Splendored Thing(1955), Leave Her to Heaven(1945), Captain from Castile(1947), How Green Was My Valley(1941), and All About Eve(1950).
