180g vinyl pressing. 'There's a galaxy of piano trios in today's jazz universe,' the BBC Music Magazine has noted, 'but few shine as bright as Marcin Wasilewski's'. On its seventh ECM album the multifaceted Polish group illuminates a characteristically wide span of music. \r
\r

On 'En attendant', collectively created pieces are juxtaposed with Wasilewski's malleable 'Glimmer of Hope', Carla Bley's timeless 'Vashkar', The Doors' hypnotic 'Riders On The Storm' and a selection from Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations. Fluidity is the hallmark , allied to the deep listening made possible by more than a quarter-century of collaborative music-making by pianist Wasilewski, bassist Kurkiewicz and drummer Miskiewicz. \r
\r

'En attendant' was recorded at Studios La Buissonne in the South of France in August 2019, and produced by Manfred Eicher.\r

Marcin Wasilewski: piano\r

Slawomir Kurkiewicz: double bass\r

Michal Miskiewicz: drums\r

''In Motion (Part 1)' opens En Attendant, their sixth album for the label, and it's typical of the effervescently open-ended lyricism, ear-massaging sonority and organic, intuitive dialogue at the heart of the trio's collective aesthetic...It's the sound of an ensemble still perfecting the art of trio in 2021.' - **** Jazzwise\r
\r

'Little happens in a hurry in this thoughtful, often luminously expressed album by the Polish trio, but the close empathy Wasilewski, Kurkiewicz and Miskiewicz have developed over more than a quarter century is exemplified by the group-improvised three-part interspersed sequence, In Motion.' **** - The Scotsman\r
\r

'Polish pianist Marcin Wasilewski and his fine long-running trio mix three mercurial ensemble improvisations with audacious mutations of classics by Carla Bley, JS Bach, Iron Butterfly and The Doors for En Attendant.' - The Guardian\r
\r

'The music is never less than pretty and his insinuating Riders on the Storm is irresistible.' - The Times
