Their debut album 'Godsmack' sold 3 million copies in the U.S and helped to establish them as firm favourites with fans and critics. The band originally formed in 1995 and went on to release an independent record which gained them huge radio success in their hometown, Boston. In 1998 the band signed to Republic/Universal, which is when things really began to take off for them. They performed at Ozzfest '99 and Woodstock '99 amid sold out headlining dates, followed by a tour opening for legendary Black Sabbath. Brace yourselves as Godsmack, the band quoted as 'hard as nails and cranked to eleven' (Rolling Stone) hit UK shores to tour with fellow Universal label mates, Limp Bizkit in June.
