Following on from their UK platinum-selling debut album \u2018Dreaming Out Loud\u2019, Ryan Tedder & co. will be releasing \u2018Waking Up\u2019 on January 18th through Moseley Music Group/Interscope Records, preceded by their first single \u2018All The Right Moves\u2019 on January 11th. The track, described as \u201ca sure-fire smash\u201d by The Times when it was debuted at their London show last year, is a dramatic pop piece. \r

The band's breakthrough 2007 hit \u2018Apologize\u2019 (with Timbaland) from \u2018Dreaming Out Loud\u2019 went to No. 1 in 16 countries, going gold in 14 of them. It broke records for radio airplay (and was only bested by Leona Lewis's \u2018Bleeding Love\u2019, which Tedder co-wrote). \r

OneRepublic were nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Tedder, plus guitarists Zach Filkins and Drew Brown, bassist/cellist Brent Kutzle and drummer Eddie Fisher have sold almost 2 million albums and 8 million singles worldwide. \r

\u2018Waking Up\u2019, recorded in their hometown Denver, is the band's most sweeping, cinematic effort to date. Tedder's lyrics are as honest as ever; \u2018Dreaming Out Loud\u2019 was a pure heart-on-his-sleeve confessional, written mostly before his massive songwriting successes outside of the band (which include Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Leona Lewis and Kelly Clarkson ). 'I wrote every single bit of that broke as a joke, sleeping on other people's couches.' \u2018Waking Up\u2019, plays not only upon some of those same experiences but the reactions to them. Take the song 'Secrets' and its lyrics: \u201cI need another story/Something to get off my chest/My life is kind of boring/Need something that I can confess\u2026\u201d\r

Tedder explains: 'That's me saying, 'Look, I'll spill my guts for you, but I don't think that's what you want to hear again.'' \r

After impressing fans at their two sold-out London shows last year, plus rocking the crowd at their debut performance at V festival, the band will be playing a one-off show at London Scala on January 18th. \r
