Please Note Not All Our New Items Are Shrink Wrapped.All items shipped within 3 working days of payment.Roman Statkowskiu2019s opera Maria achieved the very rare status of being one of the first productions abroad, extremely rare in Polish opera. rrIn the autumn of 2011, Maria was staged at the Wexford Festival Opera (a production also presented soon afterwards at the Baltic State Opera in Gdansk), and in the spring of 2018 it was shown at the Staatstheater in Oldenburg. rrThe present CD adds another chapter to the phonographic history of Statkowskiu2019s opera, in the form of Kuba Stankiewiczu2019s jazz fantasy of that worku2019s themes.rrTogether with the accompanying musicians u2013 saxophonist Daniel Rotem, bassist Dariusz Oleszkiewicz, and drummer Tina Raymond u2013Stankiewicz focused on seven keyrmusical-dramatic motifs from the original two hour opera, which, he believed, offered the greatest artistic potential both to a jazz musician and to composers of film music.
