Following his successful album Desire, Honing offers us a jazz album inspired by his love of classical music, history and art whilst also expressing a plea for unity in Europe. r

Goldbrun is a non-existent term and for Honing it stands for the way he composed this album. r'I compose from a core and work from there to the edges, as are harmonic structures that start in the middle and spreads out. It's a spherical thing, Goldbrun.'rHoning was particularly inspired by the beauty of both Richard Wagner's (1813-1883) and of Richard Strauss's music (1864-1949), exemplified in track 4, Goldbrun IV. r

Yuri Honing is joined by Joost Lijbaart (drums), Gulli Gudmundsson (double bass) and Wolfert Brederode (piano) to create an album that breathes peace, serenity, tension and mysticism.
