Train Release New Album Mad Dog in the Fog

Train are back with their 12th studio album, Mad Dog in the Fog, a record that takes the band back to where it all began: San Francisco.

The new album, released via Columbia Records, is a particularly personal one for the multi-GRAMMY Award-winning band. Named after the San Francisco bar where Train played some of their earliest shows, Mad Dog in the Fog celebrates the city, its community and the people who helped shape the band's story.

For frontman Pat Monahan, the connection runs deep. The Mad Dog in the Fog was one of the first places Train played as a band and, importantly, one of the first venues to pay them. More than three decades later, it has become the inspiration for the title of their latest record.

Train marked the release in suitably dramatic fashion, returning to the bar for a huge free performance that saw Haight Street shut down for a block party. The set mixed classics including Drops of Jupiter, Hey, Soul Sister and Drive By with tracks from the new album.

A new chapter for Train

Mad Dog in the Fog arrives as Train celebrate 25 years of their career-defining album Drops of Jupiter. The band have spent the summer on their Drops of Jupiter: 25 Years in the Atmosphere Tour, their biggest headline tour in more than a decade.

The new album feels like a fitting companion to that celebration. Where Drops of Jupiter represents the record that took Train to another level, Mad Dog in the Fog looks back to the San Francisco roots that started it all.
