Scottish indie favourites The Snuts have officially announced their fourth studio album, Joy In Short Moments, set for release on 23rd October 2026 via Happy Artist Records in partnership with Virgin Music Group.
Alongside the album announcement, the band have unveiled the uplifting new single 'Defibrillator', giving fans their first taste of what promises to be one of the most personal and reflective records of their career.
Fans can now pre-order Joy In Short Moments from Chalkys and secure a copy ahead of release day.
A New Chapter for The Snuts
Following the success of their chart-topping debut W.L., the Top 3 album Burn The Empire, and the independently released Millennials, The Snuts return with a record shaped by life beyond the road.
Frontman Jack Cochrane explains that the album was written during a period of significant personal change, including becoming a father and reconnecting with life away from relentless touring schedules.
The result is a collection of songs that explores success, failure, family, identity and finding happiness in everyday moments.
Speaking about the album, Cochrane said:
"After three records of constant motion, I felt pulled back towards real life. Success, failure, parenthood and loss all found their way into these songs. Joy In Short Moments is the sound of reconnecting with what matters and learning to find meaning in the small things."
Listen to New Single 'Defibrillator'
Leading the album campaign is new single 'Defibrillator', an energetic and infectious anthem inspired by the concept of a living wake — celebrating life with the people you care about while you're still here to enjoy it.
Produced by Jack Cochrane and Scotty Anderson, the track combines upbeat drums and soaring melodies with a message about embracing life, letting go of ego and finding joy through connection.
Cochrane describes the song as:
"A conscious decision to live and love more. To take life less seriously and dilute ego as often as possible."
The single offers an exciting preview of the band's evolving sound and the themes that run throughout Joy In Short Moments.
