The Mary Wallopers announce album and tour

The Mary Wallopers Announce New Album Paddywhackery and Biggest UK & Ireland Tour Yet

Irish folk-punk favourites The Mary Wallopers have announced their eagerly anticipated third studio album, Paddywhackery, alongside their biggest headline tour to date, including major arena shows in Dublin and Glasgow.

Set for release on 18 September 2026 via BC Records, Paddywhackery is available to pre-order now on CD and vinyl. The album follows 2023's critically acclaimed Irish Rock'n'Roll and sees the Dundalk six-piece continuing their evolution from traditional folk revivalists into one of the most exciting and uncompromising live bands around.

Produced by James Skelly of The Coral and recorded over an intense two-week period in Liverpool with engineer Chris Taylor, Paddywhackery captures the raw energy, humour, rebellion and storytelling that have made The Mary Wallopers one of the most talked-about acts in contemporary Irish music.

New Single "Crowns of England" Released

Ahead of the album's release, The Mary Wallopers have unveiled brand-new single Crowns of England.

Driven by the spirit and urgency of classic Clash-era punk, the track explores themes of identity, belonging and cultural difference through the band's uniquely sharp and often provocative lens. It's another powerful statement from a group who have built a reputation for challenging conventions while never losing sight of their roots.

The accompanying video stars actress Danielle Galligan and was directed by James Slater, adding a striking visual counterpart to one of the band's most compelling new songs.

The Story Behind Paddywhackery

The album title comes from a term the band have often had directed at them, something they've chosen to embrace rather than reject.

The result is a collection of songs that balances humour, social commentary, traditional influences and modern concerns, delivered with the swagger and confidence of a band operating at the peak of their powers.

From folk standards and rebel songs to original compositions, Paddywhackery showcases the breadth of The Mary Wallopers' songwriting and musicianship while retaining the wild spirit that has fuelled their rise.
