Rodrigo y Gabriela Announce New Album OurHome And Extensive 2026-2027 World Tour

Acclaimed guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced their brand-new studio album OurHome, arriving on 18 September 2026 via ATO Records.

The GRAMMY-winning pair return with one of their most personal and ambitious projects to date, an album inspired by creativity, self-discovery, travel and the idea of finding a sense of belonging in an increasingly chaotic world.

Alongside the album announcement, Rodrigo y Gabriela have unveiled the first track from the record, Monster, while also confirming an extensive North American headline tour this autumn followed by a major UK, Irish and European tour throughout spring 2027.

A New Chapter For Rodrigo y Gabriela

Recorded in Japan and self-produced by Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero at NK Sound Tokyo, OurHome marks a significant new chapter for the duo.

For more than two decades, Rodrigo y Gabriela have built a worldwide audience through their distinctive blend of acoustic guitar virtuosity, Latin influences, rock energy and fearless musical experimentation. With OurHome, they return to the rich acoustic textures that first made them famous while exploring new creative territory.

The album follows 2023's In Between Thoughts...A New World and sees the duo drawing inspiration from Japanese culture, philosophy, mythology, nature and personal transformation.

What's The Story Behind OurHome?

The origins of the album emerged during a particularly reflective period for the duo.

After experiencing creative uncertainty and searching for a new direction, inspiration arrived unexpectedly following the passing of their beloved studio cat, Pelusa. What began as a tribute song soon opened the creative floodgates and helped shape the album that would become OurHome.

The title itself was inspired during a walk through Melbourne after a tour of Japan and Australia. Passing a public housing tower displaying the words "OUR HOME", the phrase resonated deeply and became the perfect expression of the album's central theme.

Throughout the record, Rodrigo y Gabriela explore the idea that home is not necessarily a place, but a feeling of peace, connection and authenticity that comes from within.

Does The Album Have Any Special Collaborators?

OurHome features an impressive cast of guest musicians, further expanding the duo's already adventurous sound.

Contributors include former guitarist Marty Friedman, renowned Japanese jazz pianist Hiromi, cellist Hiyori Okuda and guitarist/composer Yukihiro Atsumi.

The album was mixed by five-time GRAMMY winner Dave Sardy, known for his work with Oasis, The Who and Red Hot Chili Peppers, while mastering duties were handled by Stephen Marcussen, whose credits include Nirvana, R.E.M. and The Rolling Stones.

Rodrigo y Gabriela Share New Single "Monster"

The album's first preview comes in the form of Monster, one of the record's darkest and most cinematic compositions.

Inspired by the acclaimed manga series Monster by legendary Japanese creator Naoki Urasawa, the track explores the complexities and contradictions of human nature.

Urasawa himself created the artwork and visuals for the accompanying music video, bringing the collaboration full circle after discovering that Rodrigo y Gabriela had written a song inspired by his work.

The duo will celebrate the release of OurHome with an extensive North American headline tour.
