Echo & The Bunnymen are back on the road

There are few British bands with a catalogue quite like Echo & The Bunnymen. Formed in Liverpool in 1978, Ian McCulloch, Will Sergeant and the band have spent more than four decades creating music that has moved between post-punk, new wave, psychedelia and darker, more atmospheric rock without ever really fitting neatly into one box.

Now they are taking their latest chapter on the road.

The newly announced November 2026 tour opens at Cardiff's Tramshed on Monday 9 November before heading to Eastbourne, Southampton, Wolverhampton, Middlesbrough, Holmfirth and Coventry.

Apples For Isaac: the first new Bunnymen album in 12 years

The tour follows the arrival of Apples For Isaac, Echo & The Bunnymen's 13th album and their first collection of new material since 2014's Meteorites.

That's a long wait, but Apples For Isaac makes a strong case for the wait being worthwhile.

Across 11 tracks, Ian McCulloch, Will Sergeant and the band deliver a record that feels unmistakably like Echo & The Bunnymen while still sounding fresh. There is darkness and melancholy, but also warmth, optimism and a sense of renewal running through the album.

The early reviews have been particularly strong. Mojo gave Apples For Isaac four stars, calling it an album with "style and swagger", while Classic Pop praised its songwriting and described the Bunnymen as sounding reenergised. Uncut awarded it 8/10, describing the album as touched by mortality and all the richer and stranger for it.

For longtime fans, there is also a particularly poignant element to the record. Legendary Blondie drummer Clem Burke played on ten of the album's eleven tracks and sadly died while the album was being completed. His contribution gives Apples For Isaac an added significance within the Bunnymen's story.

The album features the singles Take Me By The Hand, Brussels Is Haunted and The Light That Surrounds You, alongside tracks including Can't Be Sold, I'll Be Your Sunshine, Hijacked, The Honey and Asimov.
