After nearly a decade of touring Canada and Europe, Vancouver indie-folk collective The Fugitives has sold out shows at venues as diverse as the Vienna Literary Festival, the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, and the Vancouver Jazz Festival, while maintaining a frequent spot on the Canadian folk festival circuit.\r
\r
Their first full-length received a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for 'Pushing the Boundaries' of contemporary roots music, and their follow-up was praised for being 'eclectic and exciting' (See), 'poignant' (Uptown), and 'infectious' (CBC). Bigger than Luck, the EP precursor to their most recent release, Everything Will Happen, spent ten weeks on the top ten Canadian folk charts. Everything Will Happen was then nominated for Best Roots Album (Duo or Group) at the Western Canadian Music Awards and Best Vocal Group at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. It was supported by tours across six countries, in which the band earned a spot at Glastonbury Music Festival, and a two-week stint supporting Canadian music legend Buffy Sainte-Marie.\r
\r
When not touring, current frontmen and songwriters Brendan McLeod and Adrian Glynn are active in other artistic pursuits. McLeod is an award winning novelist and former Canadian SLAM poetry champion, while Glynn is a working actor who received rave reviews for his role in Chelsea Hotel, a play based on the songs and poems of Leonard Cohen. Their band is similarly eclectic, boasting prominent musical theatre artist Steve Charles on banjo, and burgeoning singer-songwriter Ali Romanow on violin. \r

The Fugitives will be releasing their new LP, The Promise of Strangers, in spring 2018. Produced by heavyweight John Raham (Dan Mangan, Destroyer, Frazey Ford), it features 11 new originals, each a letter to a stranger from their lives. It will be supported by a heavy touring schedule across Canada and Europe.
