He is supported by the versatile performer Anthony Newman on harpsichord, as well as conducting the Festival ensemble. Produced and engineered by the fabled team at Elite Recordings, Joanna Nickrenz and Marc Aubort, this performance reflects the focus on Bach\\x92s music at the festival. JULIUS BAKER, considered during his lifetime to be a flutist\\x92s flutist, was renowned not only as a solo recitalist, but for his work as the solo flute of the New York Philharmonic (and prior to that, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra). Born in Cleveland, OH, Baker studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and began his career with the Cleveland Orchestra. His solo career began with a broadcast performance of the Ibert Flute Concerto, with the CBS Symphony Orchestra.
