Returning to the UK Wilson joined the all-male vocal group Eruption as a backing singer, only to take the reigns as lead vocalist when the spot quickly became available. Relocating to Germany the group caught the attention of Boney M producer Frank Farian who signed them to his Hansa label. \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\u003cli\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAfter scoring several hits across Europe from the group’s first two albums Precious Wilson chose to follow a solo career, releasing a funky disco cover of Sam \u0026amp; Dave’s ‘\u003cem\u003eHold On, I’m Coming’ \u003c\/em\u003ein 1979 which features as a bonus track on this release that comes in a standard jewel case.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\u003cli\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStill on the Hansa label, Frank Farian produced Wilson’s first solo album \u003cem\u003eOn The Race Track. \u003c\/em\u003eReleased in 1980 the album maintained the singer’s popularity, especially across mainland Europe. First single ‘\u003cem\u003eCry To Me’, \u003c\/em\u003ea disco-fied cover of the Solomon Burke R\u0026amp;B hit from ’62, ideal for Wilson’s rich voice, went top 10 in Switzerland where Wilson enjoyed a lot of success. The title track and second single, co-written by Wilson, ‘\u003cem\u003eWe Are On The Race Track’, \u003c\/em\u003eis about negotiating the so called \u003cem\u003eRat Race\u003c\/em\u003e.
