Two collaborative works, \u003ci\u003eCircular Ruin \u003c\/i\u003ecreated with \u003cstrong\u003eBarbara Nerness \u003c\/strong\u003eand \u003ci\u003eencounter 1.4\u003c\/i\u003e with Pierre Alexandre Tremblay explore improvisation and interaction in very different ways. The former draws on field recordings captured by Nerness at the Frog Pond Open Space in California, whilst the second sets the viola d'amore against Tremblay's electric bass and laptop. \u003cstrong\u003eGiovanni Verrando's\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003ci\u003e Fourth Born Unicorn\u003c\/i\u003e, rounded version and \u003cstrong\u003eMary Bellamy's\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003ci\u003eShivering Mountain\u003c\/i\u003e, the two purely acoustic works here, explore the tactile and resonant qualities of the instrument, conjuring percussive textures and a world of airy noise respectively. \u003cstrong\u003eBara Gisladottir's\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003ci\u003eORF (en lika axir og onnur pyntingataeki)\u003c\/i\u003e takes a radically different approach, juxtaposing the instrument with the sounds of grass cutting, thudding hammers, roaring chainsaws and human screams.
