The original line-up features on set one with Williams, Larry Young and John McLaughlin tearing through a couple of numbers from that year's album 'Emergency' and three from the following year's 'Turn It Over'. The set is an uncompromising wall of sound with some great keyboard work from an often-underrated Larry Young whilst full-on guitar and bouncing drums from the more feted members of the group fire the whole thing along at a pace and power at odds with the more jazzy ideas of contemporary jazz fusion artists of the time.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFast forward to 1975 and the new four-piece Lifetime are recorded for broadcast at the Village Gate. Alan Pasqua on keys, Tony Newton on bass and another English guitarist, Allan Holdsworth feature on this recording. All of the tracks played feature on the band's album release of that year, 'Believe It'. This set has less of a rock feel than the earlier one and has more of a recognisable jazz fusion flavour to it.
