It was the first live jazz he had ever heard in his life. The following Monday, he went to hear the Gil Evans Orchestra and met both Gil and David Sandborn. He was 16 years old at the time.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWith the '7th Ave South' project Jon hopes to capture some of these moments to share with you. The project includes a new large ensemble recording featuring a combination of new compositions, re-imagined versions of his music and some of his favorites by other composers.
