Meanwhile, John Zacherle, who'd recorded the very first Horror-Rock hit, 'Dinner With Drac', back in 1958, issued a popular cover version, plus an LP, also titled 'Monster Mash'.\\r\u003cbr\u003e\\r\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003e Consequently, Pickett \u0026amp; his Crypt-Kickers were obliged to title their LP 'The Original Monster Mash'.
